About Elaine

Raised in a traditional Christian home, Elaine always knew Jesus existed. She came to faith early in life. Many times she had heard “… I am the way, the truth, and the life. …” John 14:6 (NLT). Yet something was still missing, something lost in the translation. Several years ago, Elaine came to realize that ‘knowing’ was not necessarily equal to ‘understanding,’ and so she began to seek a real, heartfelt relationship with Christ. Not a casual acquaintance, but a meaningful relationship with her Savior. The words penned by the Apostle John would soon jump off the pages of the Bible and a passion for finding ‘the life’ would ignite within her.

In 2014, Elaine authored her first book, Love Echoed Back: I Cried Out; He Answered. She invites you to find inspiration in this emotional account of how God took one life, filled with fear, pain, and disappointment, and transformed it through His love, mercy, and grace.

Professionally, Elaine has been in the nursing profession for over twenty years. She dedicated the first half of her nursing career to the field of Oncology and the second half to the area of Pain Management. In 2005, she became a certified family nurse practitioner. In the last five years, she has transitioned out of the clinical arena into a nonclinical advisory role in the area of medical record documentation, coding, and auditing.

Elaine’s Church

The Lankfords are long-standing members of Believers Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. There she serves the Lord as a small group leader, providing a way for others to study the Word of God in the comfort of her home. It is her privilege to be a part of the Prayer Team and pray each week over those who seek intercession after the evening service. She is also a co-leader and an active member of the Missions Team, traveling yearly to Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua through ORPHANetwork to support the work of the local church and orphanage there. Darrell is also a small group leader and plays leader guitar for the Praise and Worship Band. Recently, Believers started the FORWARD campaign, a capital campaign that will relocate the church and create more space. Our church motto is Making Jesus #1, one person at a time. If you are in the local area, come join us in worshiping the one true King. Visit here >> believerschurch.org
