Are You a Line Crosser?

Have you ever accepted the challenge of crossing a line drawn in the sand? Or maybe just an imaginary line which separates you from the challenge ahead? What does that line represent to you? Is it an end or a beginning?

God has drawn a line in the sand for us – accept Jesus Christ and gain eternal life. The Bible is very clear on God’s offer. There are no two ways about it – redemption comes ONLY though Jesus.

“For he is sent by God. He speaks God’s words, for God gives him the Spirit without limit. The Father loves his Son and has put everything into his hands. And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.” John 3:34-36

But crossing that line for some means leaving parts of themselves behind, the sinful parts they are not ready to let go of yet. Amazingly, it is difficult to get those folks to understand they are trading up and not trading down. Don’t be fooled! Sin is powerful. It can make the most tragic choice seem justified, thus we live in this world in the state that it is in.

Crossing the line is intimidating. How can acceptance of this Jesus really fix me?

Jesus, seen only through our human eyes will never measure up to who He really is … the Lord of lords and the King of kings. -Elaine Lankford

The One who can make everyone whole again.

“He has come from above and is greater than anyone else. We are of the earth, and we speak of earthly things, but he has come from heaven and is greater than anyone else. He testifies about what he has seen and heard, but how few believe what he tells them! Anyone who accepts his testimony can affirm that God is true.” John 3:31-33

Crossing the line is laced with the fear of losing control. Can we trust Jesus to direct our lives? Absolutely! For He created you in order to be in relationship with you.

Others will see the line only as a challenge and not the gift that it is. They will entertain the thought of crossing the line, dance around it, and even lean over it as far as they can, but they will not see what really lies on the other side. They will frustrate themselves. Nope, the line must be crossed to fully understand what is being offer by God.

Flip your perspective of the line and you will soon realize, it is the beginning of the real you. The life you really want is just over the line. He offers it freely, graciously, and in love.

But … you have to cross the line! Be a line crosser!

Blessings!
